Terms of Use

Effective September 25, 2026

These Terms explain the rules for using The Archive of Lost Ideas. By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using the Archive, you agree to them.

Who operates the Archive

The Archive of Lost Ideas is created and operated by DIYvinci, based in Illinois in the United States.

Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. By using the Archive, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

Your account

Give accurate information when creating your account. Keep your password private and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless the activity resulted from a problem on our side.

One membership is for one person. Do not share paid login access with other people.

Free and paid access

The Archive may offer free access to selected features and paid Keeper access to the full experience. Features, release schedules, and included materials may change as the Archive develops. We will not remove paid access you have already purchased without a valid reason.

Membership billing

Paid membership is currently offered at $14 per month or $120 per year. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies to your purchase. Taxes may be added when required.

Memberships renew automatically at the billing interval you select until you cancel. By purchasing, you authorize Wix and its payment services to charge your selected payment method for each renewal.

If prices change, we will give reasonable notice before the new price applies to a future renewal. You may cancel before that renewal.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel at any time through the available account or billing tools. Your paid access will continue through the end of the billing period you already paid for.

Payments are nonrefundable, and we do not provide credits for unused time, partial months, or materials you chose not to access, except when a refund is required by law.

After paid access ends, your account and saved Archive data may be kept so they are available if you return. You may request account deletion by emailing support@diyvinci.com.

How you may use Archive materials

Your membership gives you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use Archive Entries, artifacts, Quests, illustrations, audio, prompts, downloads, and other materials for your own personal and noncommercial creative use.

You may print and adapt downloaded artifacts for yourself. You may also create your own original work in response to them.

You may not:

  • Share, upload, email, or distribute paid Archive files to other people.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially reproduce Archive materials.
  • Claim Archive stories, characters, artwork, artifacts, prompts, or branding as your own.
  • Use Archive materials to train an artificial intelligence model or build a competing product or collection.
  • Remove copyright, credit, or ownership notices.

If you want to use an Archive element commercially, teach from it, publish it, or include it in another paid product, ask for written permission first.

Ownership

DIYvinci owns or licenses the Archive platform and its original stories, characters, worldbuilding, Entries, artifacts, Quests, illustrations, audio, text, designs, logos, and branding. These Terms do not transfer that ownership to you.

You own the original creative work you make. If your work includes recognizable Archive materials, your ownership applies to your original contribution, not to the underlying Archive material.

Your private content

You keep ownership of anything you write in your private Field Notes or add to your account. You give DIYvinci and its hosting providers only the limited permission needed to store, display, back up, secure, and return that content to you through the Archive.

Private Field Note text is never sent to or read by AI and is not used to create your monthly Observation.

AI-generated Observations

The Archive may use an AI service to help create a monthly Observation from limited Keeper Profile information and recorded Archive activity. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected.

Observations are offered as one possible creative reflection. They are not therapy, medical advice, mental health advice, diagnosis, or a promise about your creativity or wellbeing. You decide whether an Observation feels useful to you.

Respectful and lawful use

Do not use the Archive to:

  • Break a law or violate another person's rights.
  • Harass, threaten, deceive, or harm another person.
  • Upload malware or interfere with the Archive's operation or security.
  • Attempt to access another person's account or private information.
  • Scrape, copy, reverse engineer, or automatically collect Archive materials without permission.
  • Use the Archive in a way that places an unreasonable burden on the service.

Third-party services

The Archive relies on services provided by Base44, Wix, payment providers, and an AI provider. Some Quests, downloads, links, or media may also open through outside tools. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. DIYvinci is not responsible for an outside service's independent actions, outages, or changes.

Changes and availability

The Archive is an ongoing creative membership. We may add, revise, replace, reschedule, or retire features and materials. We may also pause access for maintenance, security, or circumstances outside our control.

We do not promise that every feature will always be available or free from errors. If a major change materially reduces an active paid membership, we will make a reasonable effort to provide notice or another fair option.

No guaranteed result

The Archive provides stories, creative starting points, and reflective tools. It does not guarantee that you will complete a project, recover a creative habit, feel differently, or achieve a particular personal or professional result.

Service provided as available

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Archive is provided as is and as available. DIYvinci does not make warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms. Nothing here removes any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DIYvinci will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses related to your use of the Archive. DIYvinci's total responsibility for a claim related to the Archive will not exceed the amount you paid to DIYvinci for the Archive during the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.

Some places do not allow certain liability limits, so part of this section may not apply to you.

Suspension or termination

DIYvinci may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, threatens security, infringes intellectual property, abuses another person, or creates legal risk. When practical, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to correct the problem. Serious or repeated misuse may result in immediate termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled by a court with proper jurisdiction in Illinois, unless applicable consumer law requires another location or process.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Archive changes. The revised date will appear at the top. If a change materially affects an active paid membership, we will provide reasonable notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Archive after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
